Become a Host with The Filo Project
Hosts have the pleasure of inviting small groups of up to four older people into their own homes. Most of our clients are living with the symptoms of early to moderate dementia or other challenges associated with older age. Hosts provide a welcoming environment which supports meaningful companionship and the opportunities to form friendships and enjoy activities. They also provide a home-cooked hot lunch and transport for their guests.
Hosts work from 9am–5pm on hosting days and need to ensure that their home is accessible, comfortable and safe (including ground floor facilities and minimal steps). All our hosting roles are part-time (1-2 days a week).
Hosting is a rewarding role with a number of benefits including:
-
Working from the comfort and familiarity of your own home.
-
Earning a competitive daily rate, with additional allowances for food and travel expenses.
-
Becoming part of a supportive network of Hosts and Area Coordinators who are there to guide and support you.
-
Building meaningful relationships and making a real difference in the lives of local people and their families.
-
Receiving comprehensive training and ongoing support to help you feel confident in your role.
-
Enjoying a flexible and fulfilling opportunity that allows you to give back to your community while doing something truly meaningful.
Please see our FAQ page for more information about the role.
