Be part of our team

Living well with dementia is dependent on others working well with dementia. We are looking for intuitive, versatile and empathetic hosts to meet this brief. You will be required, in your own homes, to meaningfully occupy and engage with a maximum of 4 older people who may be socially isolated and experiencing symptoms associated with moderate dementia, including memory loss. Hosts are required to work 9-5 on hosting days and to provide a home cooked hot lunch. It is essential that you have a full driving licence, use of a 5 door car, a downstairs toilet and a home with ground floor access and minimal steps.

Experience is not necessary but what you must possess or be is; gentle, a good listener, able to ‘read’ people well, a creative thinker, a creative linker, sense of humour, understanding, good general knowledge, a willingness and openness to learn from clients.

What our hosts say

Being a host is a unique and extremely rewarding job. Clients soon become friends and it's such a brilliant way of giving a little something back to some very special people.
