Expansion into Somerset
Devon having firmly been ‘our’ domain for the past 5 or so years we are pleased to announce that we have been making good progress in expanding our service into and across Somerset. Somerset County Council have been enthusiastic champions of our move into the county, which is a gratifying endorsement of our growing and respected reputation.
To support this expansion we now have 5 hosts and 4 area co-ordinators in Somerset and we are delighted that we now can support those with early to moderate dementia in and around Minehead, Cheddar, Burnham-on-Sea, Illminster, Yeovil and Crewkerne; hosts will shortly be in place to support Taunton. That said, the need for services like ours in Somerset is substantial and we are always looking for new hosts, so do contact us if you are interested in supporting older people in your community.
We are looking forward to another busy year as more people become aware of our presence in Somerset and start to see what a difference a day with The Filo Project makes.
